DISABILITY ALLIANCE

The Alliance was set up in 1974. Our principal aim is to relieve the poverty and improve the living standards of disabled people.

We aim to break the link between poverty and disability. To do this we:

• Provide information to disabled people, their carers, families and professional advisers on social security benefit entitlement and services.

• Encourage take-up of benefit entitlement through the provision of information, advice and training.

• Carry out small-scale research into the income needs of disabled people.

• Campaign for improvements in provision to meet the needs of disabled people.
