NORTH DORSET DISABILITY INFORMATION SERVICE (NORDDIS)

NORDDIS provides information to disabled people, their families and carers on a wide range of matters, such as equipment (purchase and hire), special holidays, support groups (local & National), travel, transport, mobility, and welfare benefits (including help with filling in claim forms). We now cover all of Dorset. As well as people with a physical disability we aim to help those with leaning difficulties, mental illnesses, sensory loss & all older people generally. Smaller items of disability equipment are now in stock for which a price list is available. Items may be sent, postage will not be charged if under £1. Service is free of charge, confidentiality assures. We practice equal opportunities.

Just to let you know that NorDDiS (North Dorset Disability Information Service) has published its own guide to accessible public places in North Dorset. It lists shops, banks, pubs, hotels, toilets etc and mainly covers the four towns of Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Sturminster Newton and Blandford and should be of great use to visitors and residents alike. It can be obtained form the NorDDiS office at a cost of £2.50. No postage will be charged for one copy only, but for two or more.
